Plenty of Time to Waste

Wake up, sleepyhead.
Caelum opened his eyes, and blinked them a couple of times in succession. Okay. Why was he curled up in the corner of the room? Luckily, he was still a wolf, so he hoped people would've only been mildly surprised at him.
[How long was I out, Maisie?]
Uh….half an hour, tops?
Half an hour? Caelum immediately sat up, his ears twitching.
I told you it was a bad idea to stay up with that paper.
[Did I frighten anybody?] Caelum asked, his tail swishing in amusement.
Don’t remember. Got distracted.
[With what?]
The wisp didn't answer, and the asper’s eyes flickered with annoyance.

Seraphine walked into the rec room. She didn't normally spend her time there, for there were often people there, but everywhere else, even her dorm, was crowded. She was relieved to find that she was alone, except for a wolf curled up in the corner that appeared to have just woken up. She was getting used to seeing 'wild' animals at the academy. The beast class folks seemed to be more comfortable when in animal form. She didn't feel like leaving, so she sat down in a chair. She opened her book and read a bit, but the urge to try and enter another animal turned human's mind was distracting. She had tried it on a beast class in gorilla form, and it had worked. She thought it would work on the wolf, too, but if the wolf person thing had been at the academy for a while, they might have had training against it. She decided to try, because she was hopelessly bored. The psychology textbook really wasn't enough for her. The walls of the wolf's mind were quite sophisticated, but Seraphine tugged at them for a bit, trying to get in.

Caelum's ears perked up as he heard someone approach. It was most probably a student. He was proven right when a girl walked into the room, clutching a book. She was alone too, so that was a bonus. Maybe she just came here to read something. She didn't seem to be surprised by him either. Caelum had mixed opinions on people freaking out over him. Most people would walk on unaffected by the brunette in wolf form, strolling around the academy grounds. But there was always that newbie who'd completely freak out, o think he was somebody's exotic pet. In the past, when people got too confused, Caelum would turn back into a human. These days, he just played along with them, just to see their responses when someone else pointed out that he was human too. Sometimes, it astonished him that new people didn't even question who he was when he was in wolf form.
The girl walked past him, and sat on a chair. Caelum stared at her in an unaffected way, then turned away. He's stay for a few more moments, then maybe turn back into a human. Not that he particularly wanted to. Being in his human form was dull and confusing.
But then..he felt something strange. Strange, but pretty familiar. Someone, somebody was trying to delve into his mind. It was probably the girl., Caelum looked back at her, and growled in a warning way. He fought against it for a few moments, but eventually let her in. She couldn't do much harm to him, right?

Ginger was trotting around, as a fox, when Vixen perked up after hearing about a rec room.
Let's go there! Yay!
Ginger had rolled her eyes, but she still let Vixen tell her where to go, because, hey, she was a new student, and how else are you supposed to explore the school? She strolled into the rec room, and at first the first thing she saw was a wolf and a girl with a book. Then, the pinball machines and the people-on-the-stick-to-be-twisted-and-kick-the-mini-soccer-ball-thingy. She was lazy, and she didn't really feel like changing into a human. She huffed at them, kinda like 'sup'. Ginger could feel Vixen nodding with approval, for her socializing skills were much better.

Seraphine almost pulled out of the wolf's mind when he growled at her, but she was soon let in. {Hello. Sorry about that. I was just curious as to if it would work on an animal, or at least a human in animal form.} She pulled back out, not even looking at the wolf again, afraid she made him mad, and went back to reading. She flipped through the pages at a quite alarming speed, absorbing information as if she was a sponge. She had read a good portion of the book when yet another animal entered the room, this one a fox. Her thoughts were very clear to Seraphine and rattled at her head like bells, so she figured she must be knew. Seraphine had only arrived at the Academy a few days ago, so she had yet to meet the majority of her fellow students.

You've scared her.
Maisie remarked quietly. Caelum looked at the girl, whose face was hidden by her book. Textbook, more like. Caelum only wrinkled his nose. The girl's voice had been abrupt. Tense. The room itself seemed tense.
[She has no right to be reading people's minds like that.]
He was in a particularly irritable mood today, and wasn't feeling up for socializing...as always.
Shut up and go talk to her. You don't need any more people that hate you.
Caelum sighed, and got up. Sometimes he hated his wisp. And then, he immediately noticed another smell. It was new. A beast class student, perhaps. He was rewarded with the appearence of a small fox. Strange. As long as he knew, there wasn't any shapeshifters that preferred to turn into a fox. The fox was definately a female, so she was most probably new. Caelum's gaze fell upon the fox immediately.

As Ginger strolled into the room, she felt like she was being watched. She glanced to the wolf, who was gazing at her, then on the girl. She seemed to be absorbed in the book, but she still had that uneasy feeling that she was being watched. Vixen half yelled,
Mind your own business!
like the girl could hear her. Well, maybe she could. It was totally reasonable. She then decided that she was hungry, and she trotted to one of the vending machines, and put her paw inside the flap of the vending,  and grabbed a bag of chips. She jumped on it, resulting in a rather loud pop. But hey, laziness forbade her to turn into a human, open it, then turn back. She grabbed the bag of chips, and jumped on the unoccupied sofa. But, she wasn't finished with her couch potato workout. She grabbed the tv remote and tried to press the on button.
