History: Catryn was born in San Francisco, CA, to Ava Greyling, a single mother. Her father, a man named David Solomon, was gone before even finding out he had left the woman with a child. And Cat would never even know so much as her father's name, either. She only knew that he had left her mother heartbroken, and didn't feel inclined to learn much more about him.
Her mother had been only 21 at the time, and Cat's grandparents, Richard and Trina, refused to let their daughter struggle on her own. They insisted that she move in with them, and they watched over Cat while Ava worked full-time as a receptionist to earn money to take care of herself and her daughter. Ava was determined not to rely on them, so as soon as she could fully care for herself and her daughter on her own, she moved out of her parents' place and bought a small apartment. As Cat grew up, she continued to spend a lot of time with her grandparents, and was quite fond of them. They had never been the strict type, giving the little girl some freedom as long as she didn't get herself into trouble, and did their best to pass on life lessons.
When the time came for five-year-old Cat to start going to school, she was pretty excited. She was a very eager learner, and was also raring to make new friends. But as things go, friendships, both the ones she was involved in and the ones she simply observed, went through ups and downs and dissipated often. Some friends moved away, some friends just drifted apart for one reason or another. Eventually she decided she had to become more independent, not wanting to rely too much on friendships that could very well end the next day. Over the years, as she grew older, she became more reserved. She would also start learning to control her emotions, and conceal them from other people, in a way that was sort of like a game to her.
When Cat was almost eight, Ava met a man named Sanford Larson, a recent hire at her workplace. He quickly developed feelings for Ava, and eventually they got together. Cat wasn't too impressed when she met him, though. He appeared gruff and awkward, not very willing to show affection, and Cat was not sure she liked him. Besides, the first time her mom had fallen in love was with her biological father, who had ultimately left her brokenhearted (and pregnant), and Cat was very opposed to the idea of seeing anything similarly bad happen to her again. In any case, her mother married him, and he became her stepfather. Needless to say, him and Cat never got close. Things were always a little awkward between the two.
Cat was twelve when she bonded with her wisp, and was fascinated by her powers. She didn't tell anyone about them, and went on with her life as it normally was, only now she had a friend. And powers. It wasn't long before Hawthorne came to recruit her, and she was sent to Montana to attend the Academy. Her grandparents, mom, and stepdad stayed in San Francisco, but Cat visits them every Christmas.
In Montana, she began attending Lakeview High while living in a dorm room in Hawthorne Academy. She learned more about her powers and how to use them, and even started to learn taekwondo at a local dojang. She has spent three years there, and is very loyal to the Academy and its people.

Physical Appearance: She is lightly tanned, with green eyes with slivers of copper around the iris, and wavy chestnut brown hair. She is usually wearing cargo pants or jeans, a regular shirt, and sneakers. She is of an average build, and stands at 5'6. Her face is often a calm mask that does not betray her inner thoughts and emotions, but she opens up a little more around her closest friends.

Personality: Cat is a reserved, intelligent person who is polite to the people she meets, unless they give her enough reason to act otherwise. She is very curious, and loves gaining and sharing knowledge. She does not like misunderstandings and believes it is always best to have all the facts, and tries to see the big picture before making any assumptions. Around people she doesn't know, she remains quiet and simply observes. She is a little more talkative with her friends, and is rather motherly towards them, and very caring. However, she still tries to keep her distance with them, as she knows there is always a chance that she could lose them and she wants to avoid getting her feelings hurt. She pretends she doesn't need them, though really she is only fooling herself; while Cat can typically hold her own, her friends are still quite important to her. The fact that she doesn't like letting people in means she feels a little lonely and isolated, deep down, but as always, she keeps her emotions in check. She is very careful with her words and does her best to be diplomatic and tactful, although she doesn't mind criticizing people if she has to, especially if they are close friends or people she does not like. And although she is generally pretty open-minded towards other people, she can still act self-righteous and condescending sometimes. She can also be stubborn sometimes. She is a realist, and remains surprisingly logical even with the fact that she has an alien thing sharing her soul and giving her powers. Her analytical nature makes it so she spends a little too much time thinking, and often in a negative way; she second-guesses herself, and especially regarding her powers, she can be rather uncertain. She is practical and organized, and tries to always be prepared. Cat holds integrity to a high value, as well as having good morals - that does not mean that she doesn't mind breaking a rule once in a while, as long as it's nothing serious and does not negatively interfere with other people's lives. She often feels personally responsible for other people, and does her best to help others. She has little sympathy and patience, though, for anyone who mistreats others, is arrogant, and/or agonizingly stupid.

Wisp: Claudiaaaa. Claudia is much like Cat, and is a logical and practical wisp who is very maternal towards her Esper. She also shares Cat's sense of curiosity and eagerness for knowledge, though Claudia is much less compassionate towards others. Claudia can be a bit pessimistic though, and wary of other people's supposedly good intentions. The two first encountered when Cat was hiking through the woods, though Cat was unaware of this. After observing the girl for a while, the wisp confronted her, and they bonded. Occasionally, the two argue, but maintain a strong friendship. They don't always communicate with words, as they can (and often do) convey their feelings and ideas to each other without them.

Wisp Class: Sage

Powers: Cat is a seer - she occasionally gets visions about possible occurrences in the future. Her small, unimportant visions (for example, maybe some stranger is going to walk into a tree) are hardly ever inaccurate (though the way it plays out might vary from what she saw, or change completely if she interferes). For things on a larger scale (like a vision of World War 3), the possibility of the vision coming true is much, much smaller. Sometimes, she'll get random intuitive bursts and just knows something is going to happen a few moments before it does, although this generally only happens for those smaller things. She also might have a good or bad feeling about something, although it is hard to tell whether her powers are telling her this, or whether it is just her. She is also an empath - she can sense other people's emotions, though she can only do so if they're within five yards at the moment. She is also telekinetic, and has a range of about ten yards in diameter. It takes practice to be able to lift/move heavier things, much like how it is with using physical strength, although it is still generally a little easier with telekinesis. Trying too hard to lift or move or throw things that are a little too heavy causes headaches.

Weakness: Cat tends to overthink sometimes. She is very analytical, and tries to look at every possible scenario, and second-guesses herself often; her somewhat unreliable powers as a seer only add to this uncertainty. She is both logical and compassionate, and those two traits often clash inside of her and cause a bit of confusion, as she won't always be sure which part of her mind she should be listening to.

Talents: Cat can more or less play the guitar. She is also training in taekwondo, having reached the red stripe level, and has her Esper powers. She has decent stamina and strength from taekwondo and hiking.

Other: Cat loves music. She prefers acoustic tunes, and is irritated by songs that have no heart or meaning. She wishes to improve on the guitar, and learn to play the piano and/or ukulele. Also, she cannot draw for her life, which irritates her greatly. She does not know what she wants to do with her future.
