Lee Hedley
Name: Lee Hedley
Age: 17
Years at Academy: 2
Family: Bear with me....... Father: James Hedley. Mother: Annetta Shaw Hedley. Older Sister: Lucilla Hedley. Older Twin Brother: Lake Hedley. Younger Brother: Lloyd Hedley. Uncle: Gavin Shaw. (I know he's not immediate family, but he's important.)
History:
The Hedleys are an English family; they live in Sheffield.
As a young kid, Lee's twin Lake always got the glory; Lake was louder, faster, stronger, worked harder, and generally better at anything. Their father, a kind, bumbling fellow, obliviously focused on Lake and forgot Lee.Even with Lake's apparent superiority, he was always humble, so no one ever saw anything bad about him. And as a result, hardly anyone saw hardly anything about Lee at all. Lee never tried in school, despite his incredible intelligence and how much his sister Lucilla begged him. Lucilla was always good to Lee. She was one of the few people who could find him, lost in Lake's shadow. Lee's little brother Lloyd was always sickly, and his mother was always lost in caring for the boy. Lee and Lloyd were great friends; they would talk while the rest of the family was busy admiring Lake, or getting meds for Lloyd, or away because of Lucilla's active social life.
One day, when Lee was fifteen, the family went vacationing in Colorado to celebrate Lloyd getting better. They stayed in the mountains, and Lee went out alone every day, just to be alone up in the solitude of the open air, with nothing but the rock under his feet. On one of these outings Lee stood on the very edge and the rock broke and started to fall. It was very foggy on those mountains, and as it turns out, a sage wisp had been hiding in the mist watching Lee throughout his stay there. She grew to like Lee and his quiet enjoyment of peace. She bonded with him and Lee used his new telekinesis powers, fueled by panic to move the slab of rock he was standing on back up to the top and climbed off.
Afterwards Lee couldn't muster control over his powers, so he had no proof of his story for his family, but he resolutely stuck to it. Concerned, his parents contacted a psychiatrist. An Academy scout got their hands on the paper trail and a couple months later he was residing at the Academy. The family refused to believe Lee when he told them it was a school for superheroes, so the Academy people had to tell them it was a psychological institute. Upon arriving, Lee learned that it was his Uncle Gavin who had contacted the Academy. Lee had always thought Gavin Shaw, an extraterrestrial xenologist, was a bit off his rocker. As it turned out, Gavin's passion led him to encounters with wisps and the Academy. Although, not an Esper, Gavin is a very important ally of the Academy, with his knowledge of alien lore and his possession of useful alien technology.
While at the Academy, Lee was quiet. He would always sit in an empty area, so that if someone wants to sit with him, they can, and if someone doesn't want to, they don't have to. To this day, Lee has only a rudimentary grasp on his powers. His wisp, who named herself Leah, as a variation of Lee, was little help. She is young, about Lee's age, and always trying different ideas to get him the ability to use his powers. Most of the ideas involved danger and bodily harm, such as jumping from a relatively high wall. But ever since that first day, Lee has been unable to move little more than his dinner with his powers.
Physical Appearance:
Lee is semi-tall, almost six feet. He has pale, almost ashen skin, and light blue eyes covered by glasses. He has thick, wavy, brown hair, which he keeps styled, not because he's vain, but because he enjoys looking his best. He is almost always seen wearing nice clothing: peacoats, vests, button-ups, khakis. He also is particularly fond of bowties.
Personality:
After watching Lake, always in the spotlight, Lee has found a certain peace in anonymity. He rarely brings attention to himself, and just enjoys watching people interact instead of participating. That isn't to say he doesn't want people to come talk to him. He just simply doesn't want to force himself upon people like Lake does.
He isn't very confident or sure of himself. He's very quiet and defers to others' decisions more often than not.
He's not lazy, he just doesn't like working unless it's for something he really cares about.
Wisp: Leah is a young wisp who is very energetic and enthusiastic, despite being a Sage wisp. She also is imbued with the traits of her own class: curiosity and calculation. However these are affected by her enthusiasm and energy. She's VERY confident and urges (or nags, depending on your perspective,) Lee to be more assertive and outspoken. Leah is very loyal to Lee and doesn't care what they use their powers for, within reason. Anything overly sadistic would get an instant ban. Fortunately, Lee is mostly concerned with his and Leah's survival.
Wisp Class: Sage.
Powers: Limited Atomic Manipulation, Limited Telekinesis, Limited Telepathic Abilities.
With the Atomic Manipulation, Lee can change the shape, material, color, element, density of an object up to a fourth of his body weight. Atomic Manipulation on a living being is almost impossible because of how they are constantly changing as it is. However it is possible to do so, depending on how. Messing with the heart would kill Lee. Messing with the brain is easier because of his Telepathic Abilities, and would result in a coma. In addition the person's own being (somehow) would resist any lethal Atomic Manipulation. He can mainly move around fat and muscle, and change pigmentation, a little at a time.
As for the Telekinesis, Lee can move objects up to four times his body weight, the larger the object the slower the movement.
As for the Telepathic Abilities, Lee can mainly send and receive intentional messages and get hints of extreme emotions.
Weakness: He has little control over his powers, as of yet. Lee is also very unsure of himself and has little confidence and he will often freeze up at critical moments. He also has a sensory disorder where he gets overwhelmed by too much sensory input. It could be just driving with the windows down. Or bugs crawling on him. Or he could be fine. It depends on how much sleep he has gotten.
Talents: He is very smart, a near-genius, but unapplied.
Other: He loves books. He wants to live in the mountains (not the cold parts.) And he hates bugs.
